In this role you will manage end-to-end global tax consolidation tasks for specific market assigned to the Tax Compliance Centre of FBT Finance. You will independently manage and support the timely monthly/quarterly/annual tax reporting activities such as VAT reporting, EC Sales reporting, Intrastat reporting and other tax reporting processes based on country legal requirements. You will also work on businesses and end-to-end global compliance process modernization, whilst supporting systematic management and improvement of E2E processes and leading process documentation efforts.
Key Accountabilities:
- Adhering with the tasks outlined in the EMS/QMS Systems of FBT (Finance Business and Technology).
- Responsible to coordinate the timely delivery of the specific market resident groups and standalone companies Tax reports such as Intrastat, ECSL, VAT return, environmental tax return, packaging tax return, etc.
- Responsible to collect from the relevant team the reports required to prepare consolidated tax returns for Groups and standalone companies.
- Regularly contact the Group Tax team responsible and/or business representative to ask for advice/ request update on business activity/ any other relevant information that has impact on Group members and their activity.
- Responsible to sign off and submit the consolidated and standalone tax return in line with the local regulation.
- Responsible for partial exemption calculation and process.
- Represent BP along with Group Tax in internal and external Tax audits.
- Responsible for issue resolutions and queries that may require reference to Indirect Tax local country requirements and need to provide evidences and documentation for the end-to-end issue resolution, initiate proper problem investigation.
- Responsible for keeping documentations, process maps ARIS models related to consolidation processes up to date.
- Look for opportunities to improve FBT Tax Team’s global tax processes to create efficiencies and control improvements within global tax compliance processes.
- Work together with the Team Leader/ Manager, IT&S Teams to understand the priorities, timetable, and work to deliver against these as required.
- Individually manage globally the communication concerning tax compliance tasks such as process changes, deadlines also collect information relevant for the FBT Tax Team from Tax reporting point of view.
- Collect data and report KPIs on a regular basis to Tax Team Leaders about queries and issues appeared during the analysed period on a standard way.
- Maintain the integrated project plans, understand the individual project plans and identify and mitigate any potential timeline clashes or resource conflicts.
- Assist in the execution of continuous improvement projects.
Essential Education & Job Requirements:
- Relevant degree and 5+ years of experience in related Finance/IT&S area.
- Experience in VAT Group consolidation tasks, partial exemption calculation. Experience in other tax compliance and reporting activities (such as excise, environmental tax, direct taxes, WHT, etc).
- Excellent level of analytical skills, numeracy, and good financial understanding.
- A good understanding of taxation across all aspects of indirect taxes.
- Proven track record demonstrating ability to deliver efficiency in processes and strong skills in project management. Looks for ways to do things better, faster and more efficiently, and drive continuous improvement methodology
- Solid problem-solving skills. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across matrix organizations.
- Ability to share knowledge and develop people.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Proven track record demonstrating ability to interact with and influence people at senior level within the organization.
- Readiness for action and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and cooperation skills.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous process and project management experience would be advantageous.
- Previous experience in Polish VAT Compliance.
- Good understanding of SAP.
