
Material Warehouse Supervisor

We are looking for a Material Warehouse Supervisor to join our Team; which is located in Kaposvár, Hungary.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Supply chain management, Logistics or similar
- Ideally 5+ year of experience in a similar position from a manufacturing, production faciliy (manufacturing, prod facility)
SAP knowledge and experience is an advantage
Confident knowledge of English - it will be used daily
Excellent problem solving and multitasking skills
- People management experience and ability to manage different all types of people from blue to grey collar
- Ability to adapt to changes and handle them proactively
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager to oversee and manage daily warehouse operations for materials, including:Goods receipt, Placement of received materials, Picking materials for shipment, Packing and dispatch and Inventory counts
- Assign daily operational tasks and workloads to warehouse personnel based on business needs.
- Supervise stock operations to support planning and production processes.
- Coordinate with relevant departments (e. g. , Procurement, Material Planning & Scheduling, Production) to ensure inventory accuracy for materials.
- Create optimal ramp plans through the system and manage ramp reservations.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of goods and documentation to support supply and shipping logistics operations.
- Verify the accuracy of orders, invoices, received goods, and deliveries.
- Monitor the quality of work performed by warehouse staff.
- Ensure implementation and compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and procedures at responsible locations.
- Take necessary actions and fulfill responsibilities related to HSE compliance.
- Track all product returns and exchanges, ensuring stakeholders are informed in case of any issues.
- Determine the appropriate process (e. g. , disposal) for damaged returnable carriers/equipment.
- Monitor stock levels in material warehouses and take necessary actions to maintain optimal inventory. Manage periodic inventory counts to improve stock accuracy and traceability; review and analyze inventory turnover rates, stock levels, and shelf-life status.
- Conduct detailed investigations to identify and analyze root causes of inventory discrepancies.
- Support scrap and recycling activities; lead the committee responsible for scrap decisions and execute stock movements in the system based on committee outcomes, including scrap material dispatch.
- Manage scrap sales and oversee related tender processes when necessary.
- Optimize placement of incoming materials in the warehouse using the Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) system to meet distribution targets and customer requirements.
- Determine space requirements for storage and plan the delivery and distribution of products, parts, and accessories.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on warehouse efficiency; develop new methods and procedures to optimize shipping efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize space utilization.
- Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse through inspections, repairs, and contracted maintenance to ensure a safe working environment.
- Complete tasks assigned by the Supply Chain Manager on time and to the expected quality standards.
- Ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables; lead monthly key performance indicator (KPI) reviews and manage weekly evaluations of continuous improvement projects.
- Build strong relationships and work closely with the team; act as the primary point of contact for team members.
- Support professional development by coaching team members, setting goals, guiding competency development, creating individual action plans, and providing training when needed.
- Communicate effectively with the team, understand each member’s skills and strengths, and ensure fair workload distribution accordingly.
- Maintain active communication with the Supply Chain Manager and the team to ensure mutual understanding of tasks and performance expectations.
- Monitor performance reports and KPIs shared by the Supply Chain Manager and proactively support corrective actions for unmet targets.
