We're looking for a Full Stack Engineer, to help us develop the Excalidraw+, adding new features, improving current ones, and the UX in general.

We are a small team that formed around our open-source Excalidraw editor. It's a simple yet powerful whiteboarding tool with a hand-drawn aesthetic, which is now used by hundreds of thousands of users across the world, including companies such as Meta (Facebook), Google , Netflix , CodeSandbox and others.

We now maintain not only the open-source editor, the free app at excalidraw.com, but also a premium app Excalidraw+, alongside a few other supporting projects. But as we grow, we need a driven individual to push the boundaries with us even further.

The position is fully remote (based in EEA), and you will have a flexible work time schedule according to your possibilities and needs.

• We don't require years of experience, but you need to have a good grasp of Node. js , TypeScript , PostgreSQL , and advanced knowledge of React (classes, hooks, effects, closures, memoization/caching, pub/sub, state management).
• Bonus points for experience with any of the following: WebSockets , concurrency , Linux , HTML Canvas – or domain-specific knowledge like security, performance tuning, or architectural design.
• A good eye for UX and UI is highly appreciated – you should be able to build interfaces that not only work well but also feel intuitive.
• We also appreciate initiative and skills that go beyond IT – whether it's teaching, storytelling, community building, or anything else you're passionate about. If you bring something unique to the table, we want to hear about it.
• You must be able to work independently , solve problems, and make decisions on your own.
• At the same time, you should be able to work in a team , collaborate on pull requests, and ask for help when needed.
• Since we are an international team, communication in English is a must – you should be at least at an intermediate level.
• And last but not least – we don't have offices, so the job is really fully remote . You'll have complete freedom over how you manage your time, but you'll also be fully responsible for delivering on time.
