Our school

The Brit-Hungarian School is a dynamically growing private primary school (general school) opened in September 2020 as a primary and middle school (grades 1-8) in the 2nd district of Budapest. Our vision is to be Hungary's leading school through a passion for progressive teaching methodology and by providing a broad-based education so students become complete global citizens. We use a combination of the local state bilingual curriculum (NAT) as well as an English curriculum based on the Cambridge International program. Our curriculum will be supported by all the best learning materials and facilities.

Our staff, leaders and founders are a mix of Hungarians and international professionals to support the bilingual program. Our culture is very consensual, and we make decisions and plans through discussion. , As part of our expansion plans, we need to build our support team so that the organization runs efficiently. This will allow educators the freedom to focus on student development. Key tasks will include:

• Manage the financial planning and financial control of the school
• Supervise payables and receivables
• Supervise all payments including petty cash management
• Supervise all outgoing invoices
• Update monthly management accounts, budget forecasts and cashflow plans
• Facility management including the development of the school site
• Manage designated third party suppliers including bookkeeper
• Responsible for managing the purchasing system
• HR manamgement

• Minimum 5 years of experience in different financial roles within a professional organization
• Ability to communicate in English and Hungarian
• Excellent planning and organization skills with a strong focus on detail
• Willing to take initiative to identify and solve problems
• Good personal skills so that you can achieve agreement with colleagues by persuasion
• Interested in personal development so that you can grow as an individual with the needs of the organization
• Motivated to take the lead on the non-educational functions of running a school 
• Experience working in a school finance and operations role would be an advantage
