Data Engineer for Efficient Data Solutions
Job Title: Data Engineer for Efficient Data Solutions
About the Role
The global CMC (Chemistry Manufacturing and Control) function is responsible for process development activities in R&D, designing appropriate control strategies to deliver processes of optimum product quality, supplying materials for clinical trials, and ensuring robust transfer of the process to our commercial organization.
The CMC-Data Science team supports all CMC functions regarding data analytics, from statistical methodologies to machine learning and process modeling.
The CMC organization is undergoing a substantial Digital Transformation, which is transforming our experimental workflow. The digitalization of lab activities provides automated access to experimental data, contextualization, and centralization of data accessible to scientists across all CMC sites and functions.
As experimental data becomes readily available, the data consumption strategy takes a central role in the department, with a strong focus on data preparation, data flow, and ETL, feeding applications developed in-house and commercial software used across CMC for data visualization, data modeling, and advanced data analytics.
Main Responsibilities:
- Create data flows to extract and prepare experimental data to be ready for consumption by scientists and data scientists across CMC.
- Manage the set of data flows for all major functions across CMC, ensuring expected experiment data is up-to-date and ready for consumption by in-house applications, dashboards, and commercial software.
- Support data extraction and data flow from development, deployment, and maintenance.
- Define test strategy, test cases via test scripts, and test executions.
- Automate execution of tests to improve efficiency.
- Complete documentation.
- Analyze and correct issues with source data, working closely with the Digital Transformation team.
- Onboard, train, and support CMC scientists/data scientists with self-serve data preparation (SSDP) systems, such as Dataiku.
- Act as an expert and point of contact for scientists/data scientists using SSDP solutions across all CMC functions.
