
Chef Tournament
You are a dedicated individual eager to assist the Culinary Director, Executive Sous Chef & Senior Sous Chefs, with implementing and maintaining all standards, policies and procedures relating to food quality specifications, preparation, and storage. You will be instrumental in the support to uphold all Health and Food Safety areas of “Due Diligence” as laid out by management in the Corinthia Budapest Health & Safety HACCP documents.
Tasks & Involvements:
To ensure the food production team provides a consistent quality of food in the area/shift under his/her control.
Ensure all staff report for duty punctually in full uniform, paying attention to personal hygiene, grooming, and adhering to hotel policies on Due Diligence and Health & Safety.
Assist and support the Culinary Director & Executive Sous Chef in all chef training and development.
Ensure that all purchased and prepared foods are labelled, dated and food stocks rotated, kept in legal, hygienic conditions.
Assist senior chef on duty with “Checking In” of deliveries: Taking note of Quality, Availability, amounts, prices, items missing and short orders for smooth operation.
Ensure all chefs are correctly prepared and ready for “Service” as tasked by the senior chef on duty.
Ensure that all food preparation areas are maintained in a clean and hygienic state.
Ensure good kitchen planning with necessary equipment and food stocks to enable trouble-free service and to maximize customer satisfaction.
Together with the Executive Sous Chef and Senior Sous Chefs, effectively control food cost throughout the various departments of responsibility, keeping close control of agreed costing of approved recipes.
Identifies areas for improvement and formulates solutions accordingly to carry out the necessary improvement.
Checks on standards, quality of service, and performance through daily inspection, tours, and supervision.
Ensure that all food produced is served in a timely manner whilst implementing and maintaining all company standards, policies and procedures relating to food quality specifications, preparation, storage.
The Ideal Candidate:
Minimum of 4 years culinary experience
Professional chef qualification
Previous International 5 Star Experience, or similar Classic European training is considered an asset
Willingness to learn and excellent attention to detail
Be passionate about food and seasonal ingredients
Positive attitude, professional and welcoming personality
Great team player, flexible and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
